Virtue (Tib. དགེ་བ་, gewa) or positive behaviour (Tib. ལས་དགེ་བ་) is defined as the mind's conscious intention to reject negative practices and to adopt their opposites. These are the active protection of life, the practice of generosity, the perfect observance of the vows, the speaking of the truth, the reconciliation of disputes, peaceful and disciplined speech, speaking what is consonant with Dharma, satisfaction with little, loving attitudes toward others, belief in the doctrine of karma, and so on.[1]

《入菩薩行論》中提到三種善:
1、virtue tending to happiness in samsara 隨福德分善:未以大小乘的方便和智慧所攝持的善根;
2、virtue tending to liberation 小乘隨解脫分善:以小乘人無我所攝持的善根;
3、virtue of the Mahayana 大乘隨解脫分善:以大乘智慧和方便所攝持的善根
