The Eight Holy Places (Wyl. gnas chen brgyad; Skt. aṣṭhamahāsthāna) are the eight most important places related to life of the Buddha. They are,
- 藍毗尼 Lumbini garden, Kapilavastu
- 菩提伽耶 Bodhgaya
- 鹿野苑 Sarnath, Deer Park
- 祇園精舍 Jetavana, 舍衛城 Shravasti
- 桑伽施 Sankisa
- 王舍城 Rajagriha
- 毘舍離(廣嚴城)Vaishali
- 拘尸那羅 Kushinagara
