The Eight Holy Places (Wyl. gnas chen brgyad; Skt. aṣṭhamahāsthāna) are the eight most important places related to life of the Buddha. They are,

  1. 藍毗尼Lumbini garden, Kapilavastu
  2. 菩提伽耶Bodhgaya
  3. 鹿野苑Sarnath, Deer Park
  4. 祇園精舍Jetavana, 舍衛城Shravasti
  5. 桑伽施Sankisa
  6. 王舍城Rajagriha
  7. 毘舍離（廣嚴城）Vaishali
  8. 拘尸那羅Kushinagara
