'''Ribur Rinpoche''' (1923-16 January 2006) was born in the [[Kham]] region of Tibet, and was recognized by the [[Thirteenth Dalai Lama]] as the reincarnation of the head lama of Ribur Monastery. After studying at [[Sera Mé]] Monastery, where he received numerous teachings from his root guru, Pabongka Rinpoche, Rinpoche received his [[geshe]] degree in 1948. Rinpoche was then confined in [[Lhasa]] from 1959 until 1976, during which time he experienced relentless interrogation and torture during thirty-five of the infamous struggle sessions. "If I told you what happened on a regular basis, you would find it hard to believe."

瑞布仁波切（生於1923年，卒於2006年1月16日）生於西藏的康區，並被第十三世達賴喇嘛認證為瑞布寺首席喇嘛的轉世。他在色拉昧寺院學習時由其根本上師帕繃喀仁波切之處領受了大量教法。仁波切於1948年得到格西學位並於1959至1976年被幽禁於拉薩，他經歷了殘酷的審問和多達三十五次批鬥大會的折磨。仁波切曾說：「如果我告訴你，在那段時間我所固定經歷的事，你將很難置信。」

At the end of the Cultural Revolution in 1976, Ribur Rinpoche spent more than 10 years in Chinese labor camps and was given a job with the Religious Affairs Office in Tibet. On one of his trips to China, he worked with the [[Panchen Lama]] and recovered holy objects—including the famous [[Shakyamuni]] Buddha statue in the [[Ramoche]] temple—that had been dismantled and shipped to China. He also re-established the destroyed [[stupa]] of Lama [[Tsongkhapa]], which contained some of Lama Tsongkhapa's bodily relics.

西元1976年，於文化大革命結束時，瑞布仁波切已待在中國勞改營十年以上，被安排在西藏宗教事務辦公室（Religious Affairs Office）工作。在一次前往中國的旅途中，他與班禪喇嘛一起共事以修復聖物，包括修復那尊供奉在小昭寺（Ramoche Temple）的著名釋迦牟尼佛像，這尊佛像曾於被拆解後運送至中國。仁波切也重建已被摧毀的宗喀巴大師舍利塔，這座塔曾納含宗喀巴大師的身舍利。

Since his exile to India in 1985, Ribur Rinpoche wrote numerous biographies of great [[lama]]s such as the Thirteenth Dalai Lama and an extensive history of Tibet, which includes his autobiography. Ribur Rinpoche spent many years living in northern California where he gave teachings and led retreats, before returning to India, where he passed away.

仁波切1985年流亡到印度之後，便著手撰寫了大量偉大上師的傳記，包括第十三世達賴喇嘛的傳記；同時，他也撰寫了西藏的廣泛歷史，其中包含他的自傳。在返回印度且圓寂之前，仁波切在北加州住了多年並給予許多的法教且帶領閉關。

He stopped breathing at [[Sera Mé]] Monastery on the full moon during [[H.H. the Dalai Lama]]'s [[Kalachakra]] [[empowerment]] in Amaravati, India.

他在達賴法王於印度阿馬拉瓦蒂的時輪金剛灌頂時，於滿月下的色拉寺中圓寂。

Ribur Rinpoche was known for constantly stressing the importance of keeping the authentic [[Buddhadharma]] alive in the hands of well-trained [[geshe]]s and [[khenpo]]s for the future of the teachings.

眾所皆知的是，瑞布仁波切經常強調，為了法教的未來，優秀的格西與堪布必須要能掌握法教，保持純淨佛法的清新活用。
