Pholhané Sonam Tobgyal (Wyl. pho lha nas bsod nams stobs rgyal) (1689-1747) was an important regent of Tibet. He was the most important political figure in Tibet during the first half of the eighteenth century, whose peaceful reign came after the Dzungar invasion and the civil war of 1727-1728. He composed a famous long-life prayer for the Seventh Dalai Lama, which has been adapted and used ever since.
