+
在禪修時忽然出現的強烈、明確念頭,可以輕易認出;
+
Dealing with thoughts in meditation ~ Dudjom Rinpoche
+
+
When thoughts come while you are meditating, let them come; there’s no need to regard them as your enemies.
+
When they arise, relax in their arising. On the other hand, if they don’t arise,
+
don’t be nervously wondering whether or not they will.
+
Just rest in their absence. If big, well-defined thoughts suddenly appear during your meditation,
+
it is easy to recognize them.
+
But when slight, subtle movements occur, it is hard to realize that they are there until much later.
+
This is what we call namtok wogyu, the undercurrent of mental wandering.
+
This is the thief of your meditation, so it is important for you to keep a close watch.
+
If you can be constantly mindful, both in meditation and afterward,
+
when you are eating, sleeping, walking, or sitting, that’s it – you’ve got it right!
Outwardly, be persevering, and know how to live in harmony with everyone without being annoying.
+
In fact, should anyone high or low try to interfere with your practice,
+
you should be as unaffected as an iron boulder flayed with a piece of silk.
+
Do not be weak, someone whose head bends whichever way the wind blows, like blades of grass on a mountain pass.
+
+
From the beginning until the conclusion of your cultivation of any practice,
+
whether lightning strikes from above, lakes rise from below, rocks rend asunder on all sides,
+
or your life is in danger, think, “To stop would break my promise!”
+
You should do as you vowed until the end of that practice.
PITH INSTRUCTIONS BY KYABJE DUDJOM RINPOCHE
+
+
To take advantage of the life that is so difficult to obtain, resolve to free oneself from the ocean of samsaric suffering,
+
trust that the three jewels are the infallible source of refuge,
+
and do not be mistaken about the results of virtuous and unvirtuous actions.
+
In particular, devotion to the root teacher, love and affection for samaya brothers and sisters,
+
the bodhicitta of compassion toward all mother sentient beings,
+
and the reduction of grasping due to the knowledge that all compounded things are impermanent are known
+
as the four everlasting wealths of a practitioners and should be regarded as indispensable.
+
+
+
+
+
The lama and yidam are inseparable from one's own mind.
+
In the development stage, meditate all appearances to be as empty as the moon’s reflection on water;
+
all repetitions and utterances as the sound-emptiness of mantra.
+
All this is the display of one’s own single awareness of dharmata,the true nature.
+
Within the space of dharmata, benefit and harm are nonexistent.
+
So-called nirvana and samsara are labels corresponding primarily to hope and fear.
+
+
若你反而在態度和行止上與俗務纏身的常人無甚差異,只是因為對少數文典稍有智識上的瞭解就以學者自居;
+
+
+
+
To put it simply, from the moment you enter the sacred Dharma and become a Dharma practitioner,
+
your inner attitude and outer conduct should far surpass those of an ordinary mundane person.
+
+
As the saying goes:
+
"The sign of true learning is a peaceful temperament,
+
And the sign of having meditated is fewer afflictions."
+
+
If, on the contrary, your attitude and conduct are not even slightly better than an average person caught up in worldly affairs,
+
you might consider yourself a scholar simply because you have some intellectual understanding of a few texts.
+
Or you might think you are a perfect monk simply because you maintain celibacy.
+
Or just because you know how to chant a few ritual texts, you might start thinking of yourself as a ngakpa.
+
These are all just instances of blatant arrogance, and only go to show that even with the Dharma one can stumble in the direction of the unwholesome.
This is what we call namtok wogyu, the undercurrent of mental wandering.
This is the thief of your meditation, so it is important for you to keep a close watch.
If you can be constantly mindful, both in meditation and afterward,
when you are eating, sleeping, walking, or sitting, that’s it – you’ve got it right!

Dudjom Rinpoche, Jigdral Yeshé Dorjé -

Outwardly, be persevering, and know how to live in harmony with everyone without being annoying.
In fact, should anyone high or low try to interfere with your practice,
you should be as unaffected as an iron boulder flayed with a piece of silk.
Do not be weak, someone whose head bends whichever way the wind blows, like blades of grass on a mountain pass.

From the beginning until the conclusion of your cultivation of any practice,
whether lightning strikes from above, lakes rise from below, rocks rend asunder on all sides,
or your life is in danger, think, “To stop would break my promise!”
You should do as you vowed until the end of that practice.

無論多少星辰倒映湖中,諸影皆入湖中;
無論多少世界存在,不出唯一虛空;

"Consider the fact that no matter how many planets and stars are reflected in a lake,
these reflections are encompassed within the water itself; that no matter how many universes there are,
they are encompassed within a single space;
and that no matter how vast and how numerous the sensory appearances of samsara and nirvana may be,
they are encompassed within the single nature of mind."- Dudjom Lingpa

Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche
Dzogchen aspiration prayer

May we obtain the great confidence of the View Of the perfect equality of both saṃsāra and nirvāṇa.

May we greatly perfect and strengthen Meditation, Which is naturally resting in the unaltered state.

May we gain greater skill in the Action,Which is natural and spontaneous non-action.

May we naturally discover the Dharmakāya,Which is beyond gaining and losing.

This prayer was spontaneously composed by Jñāna (Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche)
on the occasion of his first teaching of “Hitting the Essence in Three Words” in the West, to an assembly of thirteen students in Paris, 1976.

PITH INSTRUCTIONS BY KYABJE DUDJOM RINPOCHE

To take advantage of the life that is so difficult to obtain, resolve to free oneself from the ocean of samsaric suffering,
trust that the three jewels are the infallible source of refuge,
and do not be mistaken about the results of virtuous and unvirtuous actions.
In particular, devotion to the root teacher, love and affection for samaya brothers and sisters,
the bodhicitta of compassion toward all mother sentient beings,
and the reduction of grasping due to the knowledge that all compounded things are impermanent are known
as the four everlasting wealths of a practitioners and should be regarded as indispensable.

The lama and yidam are inseparable from one's own mind.
In the development stage, meditate all appearances to be as empty as the moon’s reflection on water;
all repetitions and utterances as the sound-emptiness of mantra.
All this is the display of one’s own single awareness of dharmata,the true nature.
Within the space of dharmata, benefit and harm are nonexistent.
So-called nirvana and samsara are labels corresponding primarily to hope and fear.

若你反而在態度和行止上與俗務纏身的常人無甚差異,只是因為對少數文典稍有智識上的瞭解就以學者自居;

To put it simply, from the moment you enter the sacred Dharma and become a Dharma practitioner,
your inner attitude and outer conduct should far surpass those of an ordinary mundane person.

As the saying goes:
"The sign of true learning is a peaceful temperament,
And the sign of having meditated is fewer afflictions."

If, on the contrary, your attitude and conduct are not even slightly better than an average person caught up in worldly affairs,
you might consider yourself a scholar simply because you have some intellectual understanding of a few texts.
Or you might think you are a perfect monk simply because you maintain celibacy.
Or just because you know how to chant a few ritual texts, you might start thinking of yourself as a ngakpa.
These are all just instances of blatant arrogance, and only go to show that even with the Dharma one can stumble in the direction of the unwholesome.

平靜自持,聞法之相;
少有貪愛,禪修之相;
和順待眾,行者之相;

Dudjom Rinpoche: Wisdom Nectar
Calm and self-control are signs of listening to the Dharma;
Few passions, sign of meditation;
Harmony with everyone is the sign of a practitioner;
Your mind at ease, the sign of accomplishment.
