Valid direct perception (Skt. pratyakṣa ; Tib. མངོན་སུམ་ཚད་མ་, Wyl. mngon sum tshad ma) is defined as "an unmistaken non-conceptual cognition". [1]
Subdivisions
- 五根現量 Valid sensory direct perception (dbang po'i mngon sum tshad ma)
- 意識現量 Valid mental direct perception (yid kyi mngon sum tshad ma)
- 自證現量 Valid direct perception of self-awareness (rang rig mngon sum tshad ma)
- 瑜伽現量 Valid yogic direct perception (rnal 'byor mngon sum tshad ma)
《正理滴論》:「如是說現量,差別亦有四:一、五根現量。二、意識現量:以五根現量,作等無間緣,彼現量與彼『自境(之)無間境』,作此同事緣,彼意識現量,如是始得生。三、自證現量:謂彼一切心,及心所自證。四、瑜伽現量:彼修觀行者,諦觀彼真義,達最勝邊際,此現量得生。」
