The panditas of the glorious monastic university of Nalanda would teach the Buddha’s words in terms of thefive perfections and the treatises by means of five principal considerations (Tib. རྩིས་མགོ་ཡན་ལག་ལྔ་, Wyl. rtsis mgo yan lag lnga), which are: 吉祥那爛陀寺的班智達在宣說佛語的時候,會依照「五圓滿」(五決定)來講述;在傳授論典的時候,則依此造論五支:

  1. Who is the text’s author? (Tib. མཛད་པ་པོ་, Wyl. mdzad pa po) 作者何人,為誰而造
  2. From which scriptures does the text draw? (Tib. ལུང་གང་ནས་བཏུས་, Wyl. lung gang nas btus) 依據何種經典
  3. To which category does it belong? (Tib. ཕྱོགས་གང་དུ་གཏོགས་, Wyl. phyogs gang du gtogs) 屬於何種分類
